A network effect for the nation's grid
The GridUnity Interconnection Consortium is an invitation-only annual roundtable event uniting leaders of forward-thinking North American RTOs, ISOs, and Transmission Owners in a collaborative, secure environment designed to accelerate the transformation of the nation's interconnection and planning processes.
The goal: faster grid planning, smarter infrastructure investment, and a grid that bends the cost curve to power the next era of American economic growth.
The topic of the inaugural event will be The Network Effect in Practice: Collaborating to accelerate grid transformation. The meeting will feature regulatory highlights from FERC, investment strategies for change from the Department of Energy, and industry collaboration sessions focused on enhancing coordination, innovation, and the network effect that benefits every participant in the grid ecosystem.
Experienced executives shaping a $100 million transformation
GridUnity is investing $100 million to transform interconnection and grid planning across North America, supported by a $45 million matching grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Participating in this Consortium offers executives input into how that transformation takes shape against the operating realities organizations actually face, and in what order problems are solved.

Accelerating the interconnection process
The GridUnity Interconnection Consortium aims to speed the modernization of North America’s grid interconnection and transmission planning processes. Through structured executive roundtables and technical exchanges, the Consortium will promote best practices, drive regulatory alignment, and enrich the continued development of GridUnity’s platform and GALE AI applications.
Its overarching objective is to convert the interconnection process from a roadblock to an enabling pipeline for economic growth while building a durable, cooperative framework that advances innovation and equitable access across the grid ecosystem.
The Interconnection Consortium will enhance collaboration across interconnection stakeholders to:
-
Foster open, cross-system learning among transmission providers and transmission owners in a safe environment
-
Deliver practical, educational content that advances interconnection and planning
- Under the DOE grant, influence the continued development of the GridUnity platform’s capabilities to deliver operational benefits across all stakeholders
